Introduction
Higher education and gender has always been a widely debated subject, looking at issues such as enrolment rates, subject choice and achievement. This e-portfolio will explore the relationship between gender and subject choice, through graduation rates. The case study used will be a collection of data on the achievement of first degrees (undergraduate degrees), namely, in the fields of 'engineering & technology', and 'education'. Both conflict and consensus theories will be used to explain the trends found in the case study data.
